Tribute to Kwame Nkrumah – Theorist of Pan-Africanism in Africa

September 21 marks the anniversary of Kwame Nkrumah, one of the great architects of African independence and a theorist of pan-Africanism on the continent. As Ghana's first president, he led his country to independence in 1957, becoming a major figure in the African liberation movement. A visionary who believed that African unity was essential to resist neo-colonialism, Nkrumah founded the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963, thus establishing a framework for cooperation among African nations.

Today, his dream of a united and sovereign Africa resonates particularly well, especially with the establishment of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) just a year ago. The AES fully aligns with Nkrumah's struggle, enhancing regional cooperation and providing a strong pan-African response to external interference attempts. As the continent remains coveted for its immeasurable natural resources, the AES stands as a bulwark against the exploitation of its rich and strategic subsoil, embodying the will to preserve African sovereignty, both economically and politically.

The tribute creation to Nkrumah, one of the first works of United Souls, is by Joy Hanoun. It features the artist's unique style, distinguished by her ability to reveal colors where no one else could perceive them. Her keen sense of color is reflected in this creation, paying homage to Nkrumah's legacy and his commitment to a free and united Africa.
